My Story
My connection to nutrition began early. As a lifelong vegetarian and endurance athlete, I learned how profoundly food can shape energy, influence mood, and power resilience. Through working in hospitals, I saw nutrition’s deeper role in healing first-hand, and witness how much the right nutritive support can influence a patient’s recovery, confidence, and quality of life. That experience guided me toward a career focused on helping people understand how to nourish their bodies in every season of life.
I pursued a dual master’s degree in nutrition and dietetics from Bastyr University to build a clinical practice based in science, research, and exceptional patient care. I completed my post-graduate internship with the Garden to Table program, which strengthened my commitment to local food systems, seasonal eating, cultural inclusivity, and community nutrition. For the past 2.5 years, I’ve worked within the WIC program, supporting high-risk families and teaching practical, accessible nutrition strategies. That work reinforced a core belief I carry with me: access to nourishing food and clean water is a basic human right.
Movement has always been part of my life, and I’ve been a personal trainer for 30 years.
My background in health and performance coaching has shaped my belief that movement is a powerful tool for healthy aging. Movement supports hormonal health, preserves muscle and bone density, and helps people navigate midlife with greater strength, mobility, and confidence. This perspective enriches my approach to helping patients develop realistic, sustainable habits that support resilience and vitality.
I am a lifelong learner and frequently sign up for learning courses across numerous topics. Highlights over the years have included herbal medicine making, yoga instruction, EMT training, inclusivity in fitness, orienteering, and animal first aid. I’ve completed an Ironman, summited Mount Rainier, explored the Great Barrier Reef, and spent time on teaching farms learning the true meaning of farm-to-table nourishment. These adventures have deepened my understanding of connection, resilience, and what it means to care for a body through all the seasons of our life.
I live with my partner in a small house with a big garden, two old dogs, and four chaotic cats. I continue to explore herbalism, foraging, and international cooking using local, seasonal ingredients, and these hobbies quietly inform my work with the patients I see every day.
I specialize in working with peri- and menopausal people, transgender clients, and neurodivergent individuals. I work with busy families and partner with you to develop a nutrition plan that focus on adding rather than subtracting. My approach blends clinical nutrition, food-systems education, seasonal and cultural alignment, and decades of experience in exercise science to help patients build sustainable habits that support long-term wellbeing.
